Coolants keep your products at temperature in transport and storage, without active cooling. Which coolant should I choose?

Cooling elements (hard): reusable and professional

Hard cooling elements in a sturdy plastic shell, available in 200, 400 and 750 grams. Reusable hundreds of times, leak proof and sturdy, the standard for businesses with daily return transport. See all cooling elements.

Gel packs / ice packs: flexible and affordable

Flexible gel packs from 200 to 1000 grams, suited to single use in food and e-commerce. They do not leak, stay supple and are suitable for chilled and deep-frozen transport. See the gel packs and ice packs.

Ice pack sheets: cooling flat, cell by cell

Thin cooling sheets with several gel cells, tear to size along the perforation. Suited to flat shipments, letterbox parcels and cooling envelopes. See the ice pack sheets.

PCM packs: a strict temperature range for pharma

PCM packs (Phase Change Material) hold a fixed temperature range, for example 2 to 8 °C, because the material changes phase at that temperature. The choice for validated, strictly controlled cold chain shipments such as vaccines and medicines. See the PCM packs.

How do you use coolants?

Freeze the cooling elements or gel packs completely beforehand. Put your product in insulating packaging and place the coolants on top of the product: cold air sinks and cools evenly. Fill the packaging as tightly as you can; the less empty space, the longer the temperature holds. For frozen transport, combine more or heavier elements; for a strict range (2 to 8 °C), use PCM packs instead of standard gel packs.

How many cooling elements do I need?

As a rule of thumb, for a parcel shipment within the Netherlands a thick-walled cooler box or insulated bag with two 400 gram gel packs is enough. With higher outside temperatures, longer transit times or frozen goods, raise the number or the weight of the coolants. The exact amount depends on the insulation, the starting temperature of the product and the outside temperature. If you are unsure, ask for advice or a sample.

Combine coolants with the right packaging: a cooler box, insulated bag or, for small, flat shipments, a cooling envelope. All coolants are ready to ship from stock.
